Entry from: Cusco, Peru Entry Title: "The other trek" Entry: "We´re in Peru - we have survived our trek - it was quite tiring and at high altitude. Having a great time. We arrived in Cusco to nice sunny weather - a great place to wander around and take in all the beautiful buildings. Whilst having lunch it started to rain - not sure I´m liking all this rain lately. That evening we had a briefing on our trek - sounds wicked - far better than the Inka trail (not that I´m bitter we didn´t get on it). I had a touch of altitude sickness and poor Ade went without any tea - other than some crisps we bought in the market. Day 2 we felt a bit better and went sightseeing - so many churches and quaint streets to wander around - tried to resist taking loads of pictures of people in authentic dress with llamas - in fact don´t think I have any The trek meant an early start - up at 6am - arrrgghhhh this trip is not relaxing!! We went to another town to pick up 12 more people and then eventually got to the start of the trek around 11.30. Day 1 was quite tiring with a lot of trekking at high altitude - over 3800m. Night one in a tent was not great. Day 2 was an early start again with even more mountain climbs to 4450m - a few people were suffering a bit and it was raining - boo.
